One of our very special VP vets tells us about diving right into booking a Vavoom shoot and how she let go of all of the expectations she had on herself for the shoot and decided to go with the flow. This is Lola's Calendar experience! xoxo

I am not a get all dolled up and go out on the town kind of girl, and to have people fawning over my hair and makeup was an experience to say the least. I kept thinking this would be a perfect bachelorette party outing. The Calendar shoot was an investment to say the least. 13 shoes, 13 outfits, 13 sets of props. I was exhausted by the end of it all, but in this amazing giddy I accomplished something kind of way.

Because this was a surprise for my hubby I couldn't tell him how my legs had this glorious burn from wearing 3 inch heels for hours, I found myself checking my email more often eagerly waiting for the proofs at every step along the way, and I couldn't help telling all my girlfriends about how amazing this process was, and that they should all consider doing it!

I have wanted to do a shoot for years now, a good friend did one for her hubby as a wedding gift, they were amazing, and last summer I got serious and started looking at packages. I knew I wanted to be my best for the shoot. I wanted to be tan so it needed to be near the end of the summer so I could correct any odd tan lines, I wanted to be fit and in shape, so I needed time to hit the gym more, eat more consciously, and in my mind loose at least 10lbs, maybe more. So in January when I saw an email for an amazing calendar deal come across my desk that could only be used by March 1st I needed to do some internal reflection. A calendar shoot felt like a once in a lifetime investment, something I would only do once ever, and I wanted to be smokin' for it. Could I still feel proud of my photos if I wasn't tan and fit and at my best? What the hell, I blindly jumped, entered my credit card info and hit purchase. What I didn't know at the time was none of my goals of fitness and being tan mattered. The whole day I never once felt unattractive, and even looking at the raw unedited shots I felt Vavoom pulled out the bad-ass vixen in me pale skin and all. If you wait to do things, to live your life until something happens (you have a better job, you loose 10lbs, you finish school...) you may never do it. This shoot reinforced living in the now, and taking pride in me and my body!
